I had a “Being Session” with Kusudi Muithi this afternoon. I planned on sharing with y’all how I felt like I was in a cylindrical room surrounded by mirrors. We went back in time and into the future but stayed in the present more than anything. That’s when things unfolded. I said things that I have never articulated in years of therapy, self work and reflection. I re watched experiences and saw them from a different angle, understanding them much more objectively.

When offered a new way of seeing it, I could see the resentment that was causing pain. He mirrored back and asked me questions that led to further insights. But the crazy part is that something happened within two hours of that call that made me realize I had actually had a shift.

​I talked to someone I love, saw them cry and told me how I hurt them. In the first second I had feelings of rejection for them, for myself, self defense, inclination to close up, but instead I listened. I sent love, hoping they felt safe and comfortable telling me how they really felt. I didn’t want things left unsaid. I could see this wasn’t extra but real hurt. I understood their side of it. I shared my interpretation and intention from a place of strength, not from fear, or wanting them to forgive but from love. We talked it out and resolved the issue. We got off the phone. I said “I love you” not out of knowing I should but because I do. I said it because I felt it. After the call I wasn’t hard on myself, but instead considered what was shared, what I learned. And then I let it go. Just like that. Then I thought, “holy cow. I cannot believe that just unfolded as organically and lovingly as it just did.”

More importantly is the simplicity in which you uncovered and conveyed the truth behind why I have not reached my goals and explained in “simple” terms how to make the shift which was easy to understand making it easy to execute. This was on no “Spiritual or Esoteric stuff” just 2 paths aligning at the right time. He was present and his eyes were very intense but I could feel he could sense what I was trying to hide.

Being a black sheep and #4 of 5 children I always craved validation and approval from my parents and my peers. I thought if I could only be successful enough then and I only then was I worthy of Love…

I’ve read every kind of self-help book and all the spiritual gurus on social media and they couldn’t give me what Kusudi gave me in our time together.
